The Cook Club

The Cook Club is a new kind of a night out, where you learn how to cook, meet people, and eat a dinner that you all had a part in making.

I don't care if all you can do in the kitchen is scramble eggs. In fact, that's even better. This isn't a cooking class as you know it. It's not about becoming a chef, or anything close. It's about having fun with food, and enjoying it, and not thinking about it too hard.

The Whole Hog

In summers between University I had an alter ego, who was Hayley the Commis Chef. I worked in four fine-dining restaurants and learned a lot about lobster and long hours and a bunch of other stuff, but much preferred cooking with and for my friends.

I’m baffled by the fact that people today spend more time watching television programmes about cooking than actually doing it. Cooking should be fun, communal and imperfect, and I hope to create a space where people can let go of recipe-related anxiety and the word “foodie”, and instead have a laugh and get their hands dirty.

You will find us cooking up menus inspired by everything from Game of Thrones to the memory of your grandma’s famous roast dinner. As much about meeting people as developing your knife skills, classes will also feature games, music, performers, and of course, drinks. It’s BYOB people.
