SindhiGusto

After spending multiple years in banking, I decided to indulge my passion for cooking, and nothing gives me more joy than bringing people together over some delicious home-cooked ' Sindhi food'. My family came to India as refugees from Sindh in Pakistan after the 1947 partition of the Indian sub-continent. I grew-up in Mumbai, India, and also spent my initial working life there, before moving to Europe in early 2000s.

In a Nutshell

The Whole Hog

Sindhi food is rarely found in restaurants, and I setup 'SindhiGusto' primarily to bring recognition to this wonderful cuisine, and also share its deliciousness with you. Sindhi cuisine has something to appeal to every palate, given its diversity. There are multiple dishes in its repertoire to appeal to lovers of meat, fish or vegetarian food alike. Some of the signature dishes are 'Dal Pakwan' or 'Slow-cooked lentils' topped with chutneys and served with freshly made fried bread; Stuffed Okra; Stuffed lotus root fritters; 'Sindhi Kadhi' a tangy medley of vegetables eaten with steamed rice'; Photemein Gosht, or 'Slow-cooked' lamb shank and shoulder in cardamom, 'Methimeinmacchi' or 'Fresh Fenugreek' fish stew to name a few.
