A hugely enjoyable evening - the food was top notch, and the venue had been decorated beautifully. I loved dining at the long tables, it was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Would definitely recommend.
We were welcomed with cocktails (satsuma fizz maybe? poss a sprig of thyme? I had a couple and they were strong...) and seated at long tables, beautifully decorated.
The soup was delicious with delicate flavours, the main included a very generous amount of expertly cooked meat with an unusual spicy sauce, the cheese/biscuit/savoury/dessert was mad/great and the chocolate baubles technically impressively and totally yum.
The space had been transformed into a warm and cosy winter lair with atmospheric touches throughout the evening like a live choral quartet and a candle lighting ceremony, all very mid-winter Nordic feast-esque.
Highly recommend experiencing another of S&G's evenings if you get the chance.
Such a lovely, delicious night in beautifully decorated setting. Enjoyed all the courses, one after another plates of goodness. Met really nice people, loved the easy going relaxed atmosphere too. When is the next Scotch&Ginger?
Hearty, warming flavours and attention to detail made every course a treat. Then the luxurious, gold-dusted chocolate bauble (filled with cream and raspberry goodness) raised appreciative "aaaahs!" from delighted diners for the big finish. This was a culinary and theatrical masterpiece in a gloriously atmospheric setting.
You can really taste how much these two love cooking and the warm glow you leave with tells you they clearly love hosting too.
An incredible evening. The food was delicious and the atmosphere so magical. Relaxed, informal, everything you want from a supper club. It's wonderful to go to one of these feasting events and enjoy experimental food that is delectable and also leave really full! Can't wait for the next one
This was one of the nicest, cosiest, places. And the food and ambience were excellent. Really really lovely. I can't find fault. The team worked so hard and although catering for 50 people, the plates were so carefully arranged, hot, tasty and filling. Everyone who was there was so content. Hats off to Ginger and Scotch!
This was an incredible evening, which was somehow really intimate despite 50 people sitting down to dinner. The food was spectacular. Parsnip soup and chocolate baubles were the highlight.
Amazing food coupled with a beautiful sense of community made for a utterly wonderful night. Highly recommended.
It's really shows how passionate Lisa and Duncan are about food. We went for birthday celebrations for a friend and it was such a chilled and fun environment. We had one of the best nights, everyone just seemed to be enjoying themselves. A huge thumbs up from me. Thank you!
I had a memorable evening with Scotch & Ginger and would recommend their events. Delicious food, great venue and good value.
A fantastic night - brilliant location, beautifully dressed tables, fun atmosphere and fantastic food. I'm still thinking about those homemade butters, and the pork, and the towering pretty pavlova, and the... (!) Ridiculously good value for money too. When is the next one please?!
What a brilliant night! The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the place looked great, and the food tasted amazing.
These guys had obviously put a lot of thought into every aspect of the evening and it really showed. From the table design, to the labels on the little bottle of ‘Scotch and Ginger’ that we each got to take home, to the beautiful (and ridiculously tasty) pavlova that we had for dessert.
The theme of the evening was loosely ‘sharing’ so we were seated at communal tables and served with big platters and left to help ourselves. I love this kind of eating and my only problem was trying to hold back enough to leave room for the rest of the meal! The menu was simple and unpretentious and every course was without exception delicious.
All in all we had a fantastic night and I would definitely recommend checking out whatever it is these guys have planned for next time.
what a mind-blowing feast! We had a magical evening at scotch and ginger. The food was truly opulent, and there was a lovely warm and inviting atmosphere. There were so many courses of delicious and surprising plates that seemed to go on forever (much to our delight), and I am still replaying the almond soup and slow cooked pork in my mind...
You could really tell that so much preparation had gone into this - from the food itself to the stunningly laid out tables - we are definitely going to the next one!
Quite simply, the best restaurant experience I have had in London for a very long time!
It is a wonderfully bright and spacious environment that retains a cosy homely feel with all the foliage and beautiful decorations that truly sets it apart from its peers.
And you marvel at how lucky you are to find such a hidden gem when the food starts to arrive and you realise the most mesmerising aspect of this restaurant has just begun. The food is unparalleled. Cooked with passion, thought and care, you will struggle to find a set of dishes so delicious in all of London, and at this price - the whole world!
Hyperbolic - not one bit !
Such a superb evening with Scotch and Ginger. They offered up a truly beautiful menu, which was really well thought out and accompanied by some great personal touches. The food was amazing, never tasted pork like it and the pavlova was a thing of beauty - both to look at and to eat! I cannot wait until the next one, need more food like that in my life (and my belly).
One of the most spectacular, best value for money evenings I have been to in some time. From the details of 3 types of butter with the bread (chicken flavoured butter is yummy - who knew?! My favourite was goat's though) to the spectacular burnt honey truffles - the venue and food could not be faulted. We left having tried new types of food (cod's liver in one of the three incredible salads and an incredible chilled almond soup), eaten old difficult to come by friends (e.g. cob nuts) and had a stonking time. I was amazed at the level of detail in the flavour combinations (e.g. it was clear the beetroot in the salad had beeen sous vide etc) and I could go on about the pork, gnocchi etc. for some time but for me the desert was one of the best lightest deserts I have ever had. I will definitely be returning
