food wasn't very authentic, average quality only. drinks menu was limited and one of the cocktails sold out within the first 15 minutes. no noodle pulling demonstration, or perhaps i just missed it.
The lamb dumplings and upside down clementine cake were truly delicious in a venue with a very lively and enjoyable atmosphere. However, the evening was somewhat tainted by undercooked chicken wings and a shortage of morning glory vegatabkes for our table, which were replaced with a plate of fried watercress in the hope that we would not notice! Having already paid upfront for our meal it was disappointing that no complimentary drinks or compensation was offered when asked to settle up for beverages at the end of the evening.
Loved every bit of this event! great to have a mixture of art, and food set in a lovely venue!
The dishes were all quite different to what i expected (being mainly familiar with food from sichuan, hunan, xi'an ), but all wonderfully executed and delicious!
pity Chris and Jessica were so busy were the cooking, it would be lovely to hear more of the stories behind their food!
It is difficult to choose just one favourite dish as everyone is different. Never ever tasted fish Dumpling in Chinese food but it was delicious. Do not normally take clam but had the Razor Clam dish and loved it.
The team were charming, the atmosphere relaxed, the setting grand and the food delicious. There were 8 courses from memory and so we left not needing to worry about supper! A really fun event which was also informative in a chilled way as the food was explained to us without feeling as if we were at a lecture.
