Kuhama Supper Club

My family story hails from the richness of Arabia, through India and to Africa. We travelled the seas in search of opportunity and security and found ourselves in English suburbia.
My parents, who were born in Tanzania, built one of London’s first Indian restaurants in the 1960’s.
Our food was Indo-African, wholesome and humble and we shared these delicacies with the privileged South Kensington clientele.
It is a tradition I wish to continue

The Whole Hog

Throughout time peoples have moved across the globe. Some were seeking power and conquest; others were fleeing persecution, many were in search of a better life. They have left their imprint in architecture, music and folklore, but also in food.

Each supper we journey to a new part of the world; through sampling the timeless traditions of food we learn about how historical constraints have defined gastronomy throughout time.

Previous suppers include the East African feast as part of Global Feast food festival. Kuhama was the first sell-out night of this very special food festival designed to celebrate diversity and geography through architecture and food. Lucky feasters were part of our smaller night of Bosnian Sevdah and cuisine, with performances by Mirza Basic.
