After 17 years working as a Sommelier in Michelin star restaurants in America, Europe and Asia, Benoit felt that in the way wine was presented in restaurants, sold and discussed was frankly... boring. Archaic. Given the bold new wine producers entering the scene there was a need to bring the customer experience up to date. So he founded Free The Sommeliers to bring fresh energy to wine drinking and share some of the history, chemistry, geology, sensuality and art contained within each bottle.

The Whole Hog

Our tastings are collaborations between seasoned wine experts and their favourite creatives to change notions that wine is stuffy, stagnant, or 'for certain people.' We will improve relations with your taste buds, dissect layers of flavour and decipher subtle scents. You'll learn what wines you like and get excited about what you might try next. Some events are inspired by the season, others explore flavour in relation to other senses, such as wine paired to music. Sometimes we dig deep into wine types such as Champagne, or food marriages such as pairings with cheese. We always aim to make our guests feel empowered, enchanted and keen to continue their personal wine explorations.
