The Whole Hog

“When you eat with someone, you can’t betray them” – Arab saying

Conflict Café has served over 1000 diners, highlighting cuisines and conflicts from Syria to Colombia, and celebrating the power of food to break down barriers and get people talking.
At the pop-up, peacebuilding NGO International Alert invites diners join communal tables where they are treated to a feast of traditional dishes from countries that have experienced conflict around the world, created by chefs from the regions.

Featured in The Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Reuters, Associated Press, CNN, BuzzFeed, BBC Radio 4, Al Jazeera, Huffington Post, Evening Standard, Time Out and more, the charity initiative has been running since 2014.
