The Whole Hog

“When you eat with someone, you can’t betray them” – Arab saying

Conflict Café is back for its third year in September, when it will be exploring the cuisines and conflicts of two more countries: Lebanon and Sri Lanka.

The pop-up, which celebrates the power of food to break down barriers and get people talking, invites diners join communal tables where they are treated to a feast of traditional dishes from countries that have experienced conflict around the world.

The restaurant has served almost 1000 diners since 2014, highlighting cuisines and conflicts from Syria to Colombia, and has been featured in The Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Reuters, Associated Press, BBC Radio 4, Al Jazeera, Huffington Post, Evening Standard, Time Out and more.

Conflict Cafe is part of International Alert's Talking Peace Festival: a two week series of inspiring events to explore the importance of words in resolving conflict.
