5 Easy Birthday Dinner Ideas

Birthdays are days meant for celebration, spent with family and friends and always a good excuse to plan something fun. Birthday dinners always sound like a great idea at first, until you are stuck planning the entire night. You have to coordinate all your friends, find a venue big enough for your group and with a private room which can feel impossible at times. Not to mention, most private dinners come with a set menu and an added cost for alcohol which can be pricey and not very exciting. Let us take some of the stress off you and show some of our favourite ways to celebrate a birthday.

The Literary Hour

Enter the feast through the wardrobe and into Narnia

Birthdays are about celebrating another year, but if you don’t want to face the idea of getting older, relive your childhood with The Literary Hour. Jude Skipwith is the leader of this whimsical group, turning her passion for food into creating imaginative dinners. Jude takes your favourite childhood books and creates a magical dinner around them allowing you to step inside the pages and immerse yourself in the wonderful worlds of Roald Dahl, Beatrix Potter and Narnia to name a few. This dinner is perfect for the literature lover or just someone looking for a quirky and fun night. Don’t be fooled by the light-hearted nature of those childhood classics – they’ve been known to do the gruesome and Gothic genre too; such as their Hannibal Lecter Halloween dinner.

A Chef’s Table

Gabe

A Chef’s Table experience is fine dining at its best: one table right near the kitchen, a menu prepared just for you by the chef. It’s a more intimate experience than just sitting in a restaurant and ordering off the menu and the perfect way to celebrate a special day. But fine dining comes at a price; it’s costly and time-consuming trying to plan it. What if there was a way to take the hassle out of planning? Our Chef’s Table experience has Michelin-trained chefs cook just for you and your guests. One of our favourites is Ed Lumb, who cooked at The Five Fields in Chelsea and now puts on fantastic private dinners. So sit back, relax and celebrate your birthday with this sophisticated dinner.
