The Whole Hog

Come spend an evening around Bidisha’s bijou dinner table in London and experience the flavours from a traditional Bengali kitchen. Simple ‘home cooking’ is the quintessential word to define the dinners.
The food from West Bengal, filled with fresh seasonal vegetables, lentils & fish, makes for a perfect supper in any season. The cooking style of this region is known for its subtle spicing. Meat is usually served on special occasions and auspicious celebrations. It usually comes in the form of kid goat or chicken. The meals are accompanied with plain rice or traditional homemade breads.
The cuisine of Bengal is the only one to traditionally have a multi-course structure in the Indian sub-continent, where food is served in courses, rather than the more popular 'Thali' concept associated with Indian food in the West.

The Theme is 'Make finger licking cool'. Expect an informal and fun evening where the stars are you, the food you eat and your tactile connection to it. For those of you brave enough there will be a session at the beginning introducing you to the correct etiquette of 'eating with your hands'.
